Faucet Repair and Replacement in Louisville

Durbin Plumbing repairs, replaces and installs kitchen and bathroom faucets for homes and businesses in Louisville and across Jefferson County. Doug Durbin, our master plumber, knows the old faucets found in older Louisville houses, so a drip does not always mean you need a new one.

Old faucets in older Louisville houses

We live in an older part of Louisville. Our office is in 40205, and some of the areas we serve most often are the Highlands and Belknap and Crescent Hill and Clifton. We are happy to go to any area in Jefferson County. Doug worked for other plumbing companies for 15 years before he and Tina founded Durbin Plumbing in May 2000, and he is very knowledgeable about fixing those old faucets.

Doug sees the faucet before he quotes a repair or a replacement. One customer in an older home said it plainly:

“We live in a very old home and they were knowledgeable and efficient.”

Faucet repair, replacement and installation

We repair, replace and install kitchen and bathroom faucets, including Delta and Moen, for homeowners and commercial customers in Louisville.

We also fix leaking pipes under the sink and handle toilet repair and replacement. When you call, it helps to tell us:

  • Which faucet it is (kitchen, bathroom sink, tub)
  • The brand, if you can see it
  • Whether it drips from the spout, leaks under the sink, or has low pressure
  • About how old the house is

How much water a dripping faucet wastes

Our logo, our vans and our shirts all carry the same line: No One Should Live With a Drip. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says a faucet that drips once per second wastes more than 3,000 gallons of water a year (EPA WaterSense, Fix a Leak Week).

The same EPA page says fixing household leaks can save about 10 percent on a water bill.

How a faucet visit works

We usually answer the phone live at (502) 266-9408, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We give you a two-hour arrival window, so you are not waiting all day for the plumber. We can call you to tell you we are on the way, if you need to leave work to let us in.

For a faucet, Doug Durbin usually goes on site to give an accurate quote. He looks at the faucet, then tells you what he would do and what it costs. You can also send us the details through our contact form.

“Friendly, courteous plumbers. I could tell they had a lot of experience as they predicted exactly what the issue was and then promptly fixed it.”

Can you fix an old faucet, or does it need to be replaced?

Often it can be fixed. Doug is very knowledgeable about fixing those old faucets, and he quotes the repair or the replacement after he sees yours.

How much water does a dripping faucet waste?

More than 3,000 gallons a year at one drip per second, according to the EPA. The EPA also says the average household’s leaks add up to more than 9,300 gallons a year.

How much does faucet repair or replacement cost?

We quote each job on site after we see it, because the price depends on the faucet. What changes the price: whether it is a repair or a replacement, the type and age of the faucet, whether parts are still made for it, and how easy it is to reach the valves and lines under the sink.

Do you work on Delta and Moen faucets?

Yes. We repair and replace Delta and Moen faucets. If you already know the brand and model, tell us when you call.

How soon can you come out?

Call (502) 266-9408. During the day, we can rework our schedule to take care of your urgent problem. When you book, you get a two-hour arrival window instead of a whole day, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
